Sibford Pupils Make a Big Impact Through DofE Volunteering
Sibford School pupils have demonstrated remarkable commitment to their communities. Students have been volunteering a total of 572 hours as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award between 1 April 2024 and 31 March 2025. Their contribution has been valued at £3,660 in social impact.
The school are immensely proud of the dedication, effort and achievement of all their pupils involved in the DofE scheme. Their volunteering work has made a real difference to local organisations and individuals. It has also helped students develop valuable life skills and confidence.
Ruth Marvel OBE, CEO of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, commented: “Our annual statistics revealed that participants clocked up a huge 5,225,285 hours of volunteering as part of their DofE this year – a huge jump of 10.6% from 23/24, with an estimated total value of £33.4m!
We know volunteering changes lives; that’s why it’s such a vital part of DofE programmes. It’s more than just giving time; it’s about discovering passions, building confidence, and gaining skills that last a lifetime.”
Congratulations to all our DofE participants — your hard volunteering work and community spirit truly shine!
