The Mount School Hosts IET Faraday Challenge

- 16 January 2019 -

The Mount School got stuck into this year’s IET Faraday Challenge. The school hosted teams of pupils from Fulford School, Joseph Rowntree School and Manor Academy. Pupils all competed in the Faraday Challenge set by by the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The IET posed to the teams a challenge based on real-life engineering problems. The six teams of six pupils had to work together to create and present their solutions.

Caroline, on The Mount’s team, said, “My favourite part of the day was building the product and acquiring the technology to do so.” Her teammate, Beatrice, said, “It was a very intense project. We worked nonstop throughout the whole day. We had a half hour break for lunch but we used the time to talk about our product. There wasn’t even time to get to know the other teams.” Caroline and Beatrice felt their team had very good communications.
