Bootham Celebrates the Cycle

On Wednesday 22nd May, Bootham School students held an event celebrating women’s voices, called Celebrating The Cycle. The evening was masterminded by Ruby Salter. With help from her friends, she brought together performers, artists and organisations for the event.
Visitors were treated to musical performances by The Barberellas and Union Jill. They were also able to browse stalls from some local organisations. Visitors got hands on with tote bag printing, and jewellery and mural making too.
The event was featured in the York Press and York Mix. This gave very useful publicity for the organisations who took part.
All funds raised during Celebrating The Cycle will go to Action Aid, supporting women in war torn countries.
